Attention triggers!

My hair would like bring this issue forth now. Those of us that have experienced gun violence, invisible or otherwise, may have traumatic memories associated with the topic and words. This is not limited at the word trigger, other words such as bullet, pistol, grip, safety, cartridge (I’m looking at you, N64-playin’ shitlords) etc. should not be used as you should always assume they can and will trigger everyone in your general vicinity.

This in mind, my hair and I decided to search for a new, inclusive term to replace “trigger.” We soon discovered that we cannot use any actual words, because words are a triggered for those of us who have had our grammar and/or spelling corrected by an MRA: It’s a very traumatic experience. That in mind, we considered going with “goo goo ga ga” but of course that would cultural appropriation of babies, and we are above that. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Britney Spears invented anime in 2007 for her music video, Break the Ice, from her Blackout album. Anime is an animation style that exaggerates the size of the eyes and typically only represents the nose through its shadow. This animation style became incredibly popular in Japan, in part because the nation wasn’t large enough to provide the studio space required to create live-action films. Popular anime films include My Neighbor Totoro, Pokemon: The First Movie, and The Animatrix.

Britney Spears did not invente anime for shit you idiot. It was created in the 1980s, please shut the fuck up.

no im pretty sure britney spears created anime she was actually a huge inspiration for the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion look it up

Fun fact: the first “anime” animation was created in 1907 and was called “Katsudo Shashin”. It’s about 3 seconds long of a boy in a sailor uniform writing on a chalkboard.

Besides, anime was around a LOT longer than what Britney created. :/ Do your research on the history of anime.

no britney’s was the first

If you seriously say that fucking Britney Spears invented anime, you need to get other internet connection besides tumblr and whitegirlsarealwaysright.com because I think that’s where you are getting your dumb-ass information.

britney spears invented anime and in fact founded japan

Everyone who says Britney invented anime, please kindly shut the fuck up.  Do your fucking research, bastards, and stop being ignorant.

Attention japscum!
My hair would like to inform you that because Britney Spears actually invented anime, Japan creating anime is actually cultural appropriation of Britney Spears with is terrible. Britney Spears is a proud culture and the Japanese seriously need to stop appropriating it.(The sarcasm-pocolypse continues.)

Ever notice how cis people complain about how trans people “generalize” all cis people, but cis people in process generalize all trans people when making said complaint.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Which is itself a generalization of cis people.

holy fucking shit how fucking dare you imply I’m making generalizations who the fuck do you think you are piece of scum shit what the actual fuck

I don’t have to imply shit. You did it, it’s right there for all to see. And you immediately resort to ad hominems once you get called out on your hypocrisy. Classy.

Anonymous asked: I'm a heterosexual woman, and I could never date a transgendered man. Can you help me put why into words? Because it's hard to defend myself on this site sometimes. Thanks!

protonmorelikebroton:

Sure!

"I am a transphobic asshat who has embraced transphobia to such an extent that I’ve becomes incapable of recognizing the validity of trans peoples identities. In doing this, I likely chronically mentally misgender trans people. Somehow I have deluded myself into thinking that a trans man would ever be interested in me, despite me not recognizing his manhood. I perpetuate an oppressive system that finds trans people fundamentally undesirable, and feel no need to question my actions or thought processes."

Hope that clears it up for you in the future! I know it’s ‘so’ hard for people like you on tumblr. So tough. Have a nice day!

Attention cishet scum!

Just a friendly reminder that not being attracted to a group of people is bad and you should feel bad. Remember, you shouldn’t generalize trans people, and besides none of us like you anyway because fuck you.

Oh but also if you’re attracted to me and I’m not interested, you should fuck off and you’re probably fetishizing or you’re a rapist or something. My hair is very triggered by unwanted advances.

Nobody scares me more than drunk white men in numbers.

Attention whitephobes!

Friendly reminder that even though in the real world this wouldn’t be racist in the real world because white people hold power there and oppression = power + star chip privilege, this is racist on tumblr because there are literally (figuratively) 0 white people on tumblr. And all of the white people who are here aren’t allowed to speak or have opinions because tumblr is a space for the oppressed to discuss their feels.

of course, go ahead saying it because obviously being racist against white people is fine and no one cares about them, but my hair just wanted to throw that out there.

getthebean asked: how did you become so smart? did you go to college? (sorry for the dumb question i'm in high school and thinking about what college to go to. i really look up to you and would like to take a similar program to whatever taught you everything)

Most of what I know about feminism is self taught.  I learned a ton on Tumblr actually, reading the writing of other bloggers.  I especially learned a ton about racism on here, since my experience has obviously been very limited as a white girl with only a handful of PoC friends growing up in a fairly segregated city.  I also knew virtually nothing about genders outside the cis binary before joining this site.
I did go to college but I only took three social-justice related classes.  My internships were never initially social justice-focused but they ended up that way, so I learned a ton through my volunteer and intern experiences too.  But you don’t have to go to college to be smart!!  And graduating from college doesn’t mean you are smart!!  Just a reminder.  George W. Bush graduated from Yale ;)

Good god some HUGE dumbasses replied to this. x-x ugh. I guess learning through experience via your volunteer work and intern experiences just aren’t good enough! If you learn anything from tumblr you are automatically dumb.

Attention Shitlords!

Friendly reminder that what us social justice warriors are doing is volunteer work. Cause, you know, it’s not our job to educate you and shit, we just do it cause we’re nice people.

Attention Mothers!

My hair has just seen a frightening statistic suggesting that there are many moms separating their poor poor children from their XBoxs, as you can see from these findings. This data is completely legitimate because it’s in the form of a graph and that’s how STEM works for those of you who were unaware.

The graph, by the way, is a totally legitimate and definitely happened survey of “redpillers” who were asked “What is the main reason you swallowed the red pill?”

Take a stand against this type of cruel and unusual punishment! Forcing your kids away from their XBox can result in serious mental health issues, including…

…not having anyone to harass and call a faggot over a XBox headset

having to evaluate how you spend your free time

…and worst of all delusions of Evolutionary Psychology.

Anon asks:

Hi there! I’m a 14 year old girl and I’m a big fan of your blog. I’m indeed a feminist and slowly work to a world with more understanding than hate. I’ve been following you for a few months now and I just have a somewhat unusual question… should I be ashamed to be white? I mean I understand that I shouldn’t be ashamed of who I am, but so many people in tumblr posts stay stuff like “oh white people are complaining about being oppressed again” and they make fun of us a lot.  I understand that white people have done inexcusable terrible things in history, but I feel that because I’m born into a skin I shouldn’t be given that burden. I love all races and cultures and am working to become trilingual, but it’s so hard to get into healthy debates about culture and society when other races can pull the whole “white people” card. Please help me with this, I don’t know- advice maybe or something I need to know that I’m being naive about? Thank you for your time!

I made you anonymous because you’re so young and I really don’t want you to get bullied for sending me this message.  I don’t think you should be ashamed of being white, because being ashamed helps no one.  It doesn’t help YOU and it certainly doesn’t help people of color or diminish racism in any capacity.  What you should be, as a white person, is constantly aware of the privilege you hold as a white person and how it benefits you.  You should be constantly educating yourself about racial issues and the oppression faced by people of color.  You should read the blogs and writings of people of color, and especially women of color who face compounded discrimination for lacking both white privilege AND male privilege.  Understand that when PoC on sites like Tumblr generalize or mock white people, that kind of “discrimination” pales in comparison to the type of systemic bigotry faced by PoC in every aspect of their lives.  Understand that the offense you take to jokes and comments at the expense of white people on this site doesn’t effect you when you log off the internet.  They don’t prevent you from getting a job, getting an education, being taken seriously in social settings, having your basic legal rights respected, etc.  Read a white privilege checklist.  Acknowledge the ways you benefit in your daily life from being born white.  Educate yourself.  Follow blogs that deal with issues of racism and listen and believe them.  When you see a post about “white people do [racist thing]”, instead of getting mad and defensive, think “Do I do that?”.  If you do, stop doing the thing!  If you don’t, then fine, just acknowledge that other white people do it.  But remember what it is so when you see white people doing it in the future, you can call them out.  Instead of getting all “woe is me, I can’t do anything about my whiteness”, use the privilege and voice you have to make space for PoC’s voices and speak out against racism when you see it.  Constantly work to improve yourself.  Acknowledge that you don’t know everything (or anywhere close) and that you have SO much more to learn about these issues.  Acknowledge that it’s not all about you.  Good luck and take care.
(PoC people please message me if I miss-stepped, overstepped, or missed something.)

Attention white people!
Take this as an example. You should be constantly thinking about your privilege and basically center your life around it. That’s right, just being a decent human being won’t cut it anymore. You see, as time marches on we have to hold people to higher standards. That’s why while 100 years ago some white historical figures that I droll over were fine, but today you need to be constantly check your privilege or you’re an automatic shitlord. It’s an effect my hair likes to call “The Shit-Stained Glass Ceiling.”
What, that doesn’t make any sense? Check your economist privilege.
